Do any internet company have wireless service itself?....?

Okay I know i can pick up other people\'s or just my own dsl wireless. But do any companys offer wireless internet alone? Im confused about Verizon\'s \"Wireless Broadband\". Basically im asking is there an internet service that offers a Wireless Internet service where I can take my laptop and use it wherever I go using their wirless? Is that what Verizon is offering?
