My original Time Warner Remote (CheckMate 3) Broke, and I want to program a at8550 Remote to my Scientific Atlanta Cable Box (it doesn't have DVR, but the remote does (but it will still work, because I've seen it done)) and my Emerson tv (If it's not too much trouble for you). Can you help? Please don't lead me to the TW Website, I've already been there!
Sorry Belle, my remote doesn't fit that description at all..I have no "setup" button, and the DVR buttons are way at the bottom, as opposed tot he AUX, DVD, VCR, CBL, TV, buttons on the top.
^^^ That is the description of the Remote that is NOT broken. But the broken one is WAY different, too!

Press the Setup button on the remote.  It's at the top left corner, above the AUX, DVR, TV & CABLE buttons.  That button will guide you through setting up your TV & cable box on the universal remote from Time Warner.

If that fails, you'll have to call Time Warner cable & speak to someone in Tech Support.
