Time Warner Internet: Alternatives?!?

Are there any alternatives to TWC? I play online through PS3 and XBOX 360 on occasion. I\'m not really that much of a hardcore gamer anymore but I do enjoy the speed and stability of a good cable connection. I\'m in the Raleigh, NC area and need to start pinching pennies a bit more. I just don\'t feel like 40.00/month is worth a service that I don\'t use that often.
