I have a standard cable modem used for internet thru time warner. I want to set up a wireless network. Can i simply plug a wireless router into the modem and get wireless internet. If not can some one tell me how set this up? T.W cable wants to charge $40 bucks to use the router plus $5 a month for service....screw that. any help please
I dont have a cable wireless router only the phone jack ones.

What you are trying to do is possible... Buy a cheap wireless router and install it after the modem but before the PC... The only issues you might have are pinging a PC from the outside. Like running remote desktop to a machine in your network. But the you can address that issue using port forwarding, that comes in your router configuration... very easy to do

Yep, you can do that. As a matter of fact that\'s how I have mine setup. I have a standard modem and I get my wireless from a router i attached to my modem.
