Earthlink cable questions?

I want to switch to earthlink cable but I was wondering if I have to be a subscriber to comcast or time warner? Neither of those companies service my area but earthlink says I can get their internet service. I\'m confuse :\\
Earthlink is better then my current option. And says their website they use comcast\'s and time warners cable system.

Earthlink is seperate from comcast and time warner. Earthlink can reach you, and the other two can\'t, its that simple.

Although I wouldn\'t recommend Earthlink, their internet service is slow....
