A Time Warner cable question...?

My time Warner remote was some how deactivated.
it wouldn\'t change volume and channels or nothing...
i activated to work on the TV but know it does not change the channel in the cable box..
its as if its not activated only to the cable box....

how do i fix that, in order to change channel?
