Is it possible to have call alerts on your computer using DSL?

What I mean is...

We have Qwest which uses DSL for internet.  We\'ve attached the splitter so the internet and phone go through the same outlet.  Is it possible to have it where when someone calls, an alert pops up on a computer saying a call is there with caller id information?
