Cox Communications left a notice that they will be replacing a cable inside my apartment anytime during the day and that they will obtain a key from the management to enter. I do NOT feel comfortable with them being in my apartment without my presence, furthemore I have a dog that might attack. Can I deny their request of entry? Can I put something on my door saying that "I must be present during their visit"Huh??

Sure, I'd call them and tell them that you own a dog and the dog will not allow anyone in the apartment and you want to be there when they come.  I've never heard of a cable company that would go into an apartment without someone being there.

YES, you can put a notice on your door -as well as- notify your apartment office that you aren't comfortable with this. They will have no problem with that. Cox shouldn't be saying they'll go in there without someone there!! That is so weird, I've never heard of them doing that (I'm from Oklahoma, so I use Cox Cable as well). Sounds fishy to me. You might even call and ask customer service about it, to find out if that's legit.

They are not allowed in without your permission and the landlord who gives them entry without your knowledge can be held liable.  Call them and arrange something ... or discuss with your landlord.
