I have a 32" HD LCD Flat Screen, and today, comcast arrived and installed the HD box. I thought the display would look much better, but it looks like standard television. I can only set the format to 480p or 480i. I should be able to set it to 720p but I can't. What could be the problem?
I just found out that there are separate HD channels.

What do you mean by you should be able to set it to 720 but i cant? With the box and tv on hit the cable power button than push the menu button. Make sure the setting are for 720 and not 480. Always try the HD specific channells first.

Check the cables from the box to the TV. Only Component (reg, green, blue cables) or HDMI connections are able to deliver HD to your TV set. If the Comcast technician hooked up your cable box with composite cables (yellow, red, white), you will only get 480 resolution.
It seems unbelievable that a Comcast tech would do this, but I have heard of multiple instances of it.. Either they're untrained, lazy or Comcast is too cheap to supply you with the proper cables.

also on the back of the tv make sure the input says 720 because sometimes there are different deffenition inputs
