We have an older computer that use to connect via the wireless adapter to my next door neighbors DSL (we paid half the bill) until I got Comcast Cable. At that time my daughter stopped using the older desktop as we had also gotten a laptop at the time. Well today she has decided she wants the desktop in her room hooked up to the internet.
Here's the problem, the adapter is still connected but it won't connect to anyone's internet connect, my Comcast or my neighbors DSL - it doesn't see anything. I went to control panel and there is no "wireless link" or "wireless network" only "network connections" and of course there is no connections and I can't figure out how to get it configured to use the adapter for the wireless connection (I know enough about computers to be dangerous, and sometimes that's too much!).
So riddle me this Batman, how can I get it to connect via the wireless adapter to my wireless router? This has Windows XP on it, still has Explorer 6 (though it won't connect when you click on the explorer symbol). What other info do you need (other than it use to connect once upon a time)?
Thanks so much!

Forgot to mention, I do not know where the recover disk is that came with the computer, though I have been able to find all the extra games, etc. that came with it.
Thanks again!
JimDandy: Yes you are correct, my desk top which has the Comcast modem and the Linksys Wireless-G router is still connected and running (I'm using the my desktop that has modem & router connected right now), and the laptop has it's own WiFi built in and is connected wireless to the router. It's just the old desktop that has no connection at all. Like I said, it use to be connected with the wireless adapter but to my next door neighbors DSL before I got Comcast but it doesn't even see that connection, in fact, I can see anywhere on the computer where it actually has any sort of wireless connection (software wise, icons, etc.).
Thanks!
