I have a Dell desktop computer running Windows Vista Basic home. Everytime I hit the x to close a web browser page it shuts down Windows Explorer and restarts.  It does this in Firefox or regular Explorer. I have charter cable for high speed connection. They say it is not connection related.
it doesnt just close the application on the tabbed pages it shut down internet explorer.. i know the x closes the page your on.. thats obvious
if u shut the tab using right click close, it does it less often and you can still browse web apps. if you use the x explorer shuts down and restarts but you lose your apps. or page you were on

The "x" in the UPPER RIGHT corner of the screen of any application closes that application.

If using Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, Firefox,  WHATEVER, the "x" in the UPPER RIGHT corner of the screen of any application closes that application.
