i was thinking about getting magic jack, but have a few questions, does anyone already have this?

i was wondering, does this device hook into your actual computer, or into the modem. also i have wireless internet on my laptop, through charter communications, my cable company, would this still work for me?? ive heard you also have to have dial-up as well??  does any reccomend this service??
