Is charter in your area?  If you have had problems with charter before and could not get them fixed there are some ways you can fix that.  1st if you don't have cable service right now, find where their line came to your house.  This should be around the power meter.  Cut the line coming to your house a few feet from the house.  This is called the drop.  A lot of problems come from the drop but most techs don't want to take the time to replace it if it is bad.  Cutting it will make them do it. 

2nd, Remove all the cable from your house so they will have to run new lines.  Be carefull because the install only provides running 3 lines.

3rd, AND MOST IMPORTANT- Do not let the contractors do anything.  Make a real tech do it.
