Author Topic: I\'m getting 50-200kbps instead of 2mbps?  (Read 320 times)

Whenever I download something it will only do 50-200 kbps but I should be getting 2 mb and when I do a speed test through bellsouth because that\'s who I have i get 2 mb...

I dont know if its my router I have a net gear
and im pretty sure 1mb = 1000kb

You may have payed for 2 megaBITS per second, this is different from 2 megabytes per second. There are 8 bits to a byte, so your speed is about right.
(you may be getting 200 kilobytes per second, which is a bit less than 2 mega bits per second)
