Help with wireless speed!?

Alright for some reason whenever i get on my Xbox 360 and play online my games are really laggy and disconnect frequently.
I checked my wireless speed and found that my download speed is decent but should be much higher (it\'s around 1900 kb but should be around 2700 kb) while my upload speed is absolutely terrible (around 200 kb when it should be around 3000-4000 kb)
I have a belkin router (or is it a modern? i don\'t know the difference), bellsouth is my internet provider (have the best possible connection choice), two computers (one desktop one laptop), and one xbox 360
Can someone please help it\'s killing my gaming!
I can\'t switch to wire since my xbox is in a totally different room away from the router and all.
I tried calling my internet provider, switched it to the best one (still crappy), had some technician come over and he said something about the wiring of my house didn\'t work well with wireless. I don\'t really get what he meant.

Hm you should try to be as near your wireless router as possible.Maybe get a Wired connection router and a wire and hook it up to your 360. This may help I know it did me
if this does not improve your connection phone your Internet provider, they may be able to help to solve your problem. (if not get another router and try if that speeds you up if not return it and get your money back.)
